Tequilla: I’m a single woman.

Rum: I’m a touch and go woman.

Champagne: I’m an engaged woman.

Red Bull: I’m a woman in a relationship.

Beer: I’m a married woman.

Vodka: I’m the “other one”.

Sprite: I’m a woman that can’t find the right man.

Whiskey: I’m a single woman with friends that won’t stop partying.

Liquor: I’m a woman that wishes that she was single.

Gin: I’m a woman that wants to get married.

Thank you all for reminding me that I have been occupying a space of the mighty Internet and junk created by me resides on the WordPress servers. You, you and also you over there, I will send you a card showing my appreciations. It has actually been more than a year but I am not complaining. Rather my mind is groaning under the weight of all the words that remain un-typed and those that have been half-typed.

I started writing this blog because someone who I told that I am on Twitter replied curtly, “Twitter is for bloggers.” And he continued staring at his computer as if he was about to crack some code written on MS Word. That and the fact that I was embarking on my actuarial exams made me do it. I thought it would be a cool idea to write what people go through as they prepare, prepare to study, study, prepare to do the exams, do the exams, bite their nails, celebrate after the exams and wait for the results before the cycle repeats itself. But I found out that it was boring. I can never describe the same thing over and over at all.

This blog then served as my scrapbook where I could throw anything into it whenever I felt like it. Commentary, criticism, sarcasm (which I fail at) and fiction all found a place here. Plus it formed as a launch into one of the most exciting projects that I have worked on for the past few months. It started with a tweet and before long I was working for an online magazine. Our current team leader is the one who recruited me to The Princess Project Kenya. It has been great and I thank this blog for that.

Do people still say which posts are the best to them? If they do, then this post will always be the best. It had been written as a guest post for someone but she never got to posting it on her blog so I just uploaded it one day. It was witty (according to me) and it was exactly what it was meant to be; a true reflection of what I felt. This fictional piece on the voting and the constitution remains my most creative. I had to write it for three days. Write, backspace, write, CTRL+A+BACKSPACE were regular features for three days. But it came to be what I meant it to be.

Thanks to Wamathai who has penned these two pieces (Friday Escapades and Her Friends) for the blog and to KateBomz for allowing me to reblog this African intellectual property post. They are also some of the best bloggers that I have come across including those that I pick up for the posts and they appear at some of my posts (although the numbers keep dwindling). To my first commenter on the blog, Raymond, cheers and also to the person with the most comments, who I do not know. To all those who have ever dropped a comment, thanks, thanks and THANKS.

The next one year looks like it will be bigger and better for my blogging in addition to the following  blogs/websites that am involved with;

I might also be a guest blogger for some of the much, much better blogs around plus one of the blogs that runs satirical pieces on a regular basis. So look out for more of my pieces.
